The operation of Sunrise Way therapeutic Community is currently guided by a Board of Directors. The Board has been recently increased in size as the focus is now moving from the provision of a facility, to preparations for operations to commence. Board Member details are:

Doug Harland - President B Mech Eng: FIE Aust.: Member AICD. Doug, a Mechanical Engineer is the CEO of the Australian Green Infrastructure Council that is developing a national sustainability rating scheme for major civil infrastructure. Previously Doug was the CEO of Toowoomba Metal Technologies, formerly Toowoomba Foundry. The company was turned around and reinvented under his leadership. Doug has also held various Board and organisational executive positions, including: Queensland President and National Vice-President of Australian Industry Group; National Chairman of the National Cast Metals Council and Australian Foundry Institute; and he has been a Director of South West Power. Doug was a recipient of a Confederation of British Industry Scholarship, and has lectured on Business and Manufacturing at local Universities, Colleges, and national and international conferences. Doug brings a wealth of valuable experience to the Board.

Robert Ketton Senior lecturer in Acting, Department of Theatre, University of Southern Queensland. As well as being a distinguished academic, Robert is an accomplished actor, director, playwright and public speaker. He trained for the theatre at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and at Burton School of Speech and Drama in the UK. Robert has published eight books dealing with youth theatre and is well known for his Theatre in Education work. His play ‘Invisible Rivers', written in collaboration with Bruce Dawe, toured with Queensland Arts Council 2004. Robert has written film scripts, children's operas and musicals and is currently engaged in a project for Opera North. He has directed over 20 plays for the USQ's Performance Centre. Robert's particular interests have revolved around the training of actors and community engagement and capacity building through theatre. |

Linda Davies – Secretary / Treasurer Diploma in Teaching (Primary): Grad Dip Ed (Early Childhood): Justice of the Peace (Qualified). Owner & Licensee of Kate's Place - Child Care Centres As Sunrise Way's Treasurer/Secretary, Linda has an extensive professional and business background within the public and private Education sector. Over the years, Linda has devoted much of her time to assisting those in need of her research, advocacy, para-legal and administrative skills. For more than 30 years, Linda has served in office-bearing roles in Scouts and Parents and Friends' Committees, as well as being an active member of Zonta International. Linda was also a candidate in Local and State Government elections. Together with her husband, Noel, Linda is a business owner and licensee of five very busy Kate's Place Early Education & Child Care Centres. The loss of their son, Trevor, in February 2006 to an addiction illness has inspired Linda to assist young sufferers to enhance their lives and enrich our community.

Councillor Joe Ramia Toowoomba City Council Elected to Council in 1994, Joe has served four terms. Joe also holds a fruit juice franchise and is the owner of Toowoomba Cold Stores, Toowoomba Ice and Supa Catering Division. He has been involved with the local Speedway since its inception and has held all Executive positions over the years. He has been honoured with Life Member of the Downs Speedway Club. Joe has also served his community through the National Fitness movement and has attended more than 100 camp holidays as a Leader and subsequently as Director. Joe has devoted much of his time over the years to assisting many local organisations and feels that it has been a valuable and rewarding learning experience.

Maryann Madden Crisis Cousellor Maryann is a crisis counsellor with over 40 years experience, having worked untiringly throughout her life supporting the injured, sick and dying. Maryann has previously worked as a business consultant in Australia and abroad. Using her unique insight she brings people together cooperatively to facilitate business sustainability. Through a very real platform of integrity, she has assisted a large number of people at all professional levels in Australia and overseas in their own personal development. Maryann is the Managing Director of two Adult Education Centres, based in Brisbane and London, and a unique aspect is that both centres operate on the basis of donation for services.

Ms Alison Stalley After Hours Nursing Director St Vincent's Hospital, Toowoomba R.N., B. Nsg., Grad. Dip. Critical Care Alison is an after hours Hospital Manager with St. Vincent's Hospital. A nurse for 32 years with experience in tertiary, secondary and rural and remote hospitals with a strong passion for the education of future nurses, Alison has worked in the clinical education area of USQ. Alison was an inaugural member of the Queensland Aids Council, undertaking policy, planning and educational standards for the organisation. An interest in clinical health management has seen Alison lecture at USQ and present papers nationally and internationally with written publications. Alison's present position involves the development, implementation and review of risk management and Occupational Health and Safety strategies. Alison brings to the Board not only a clinical view from the health industry, but also a strong grounding in written policy, procedure, implementation and review of standards.
